== The Project ==
The assignment for this project was to create an abstract object with clay. We were to make this have 3D qualities and be abstract with its shapes and colors
== My Process ==
Before I started on this art project I had to draw ideas in my sketchbook. Then I had to take that idea and I had to draw a regular object and slowly make it abstract by switching around the parts and adding unnatural colors.
The steps in making this work of art that were most important to me were planning it out. For example, I created a cat and its whiskers were going in crazy directions. I had to plan out how I was going to go about that task to prevent them from falling off.
One part of the process that was a little difficult for me was painting the object when it came out of the kiln. It was incredibly hard for me to fill in every white area with color. I used different sized brushes to help overcome this difficulty.
== The Theme ==
My sculpture/drawing represents a cat. I have two cats, so I love the animal. I knew I could do something cool with the whiskers with the clay. They are the crazy things sticking out diagonally. The triangles are its eyes and the circles on the outside are its ears.
== Conclusion ==
I really enjoyed doing this project because I love working with clay and I have a fun time painting things. It was fun making a cat appear crazy but still cat-like in a weird way.
I want to improve on painting next time. I made the mistake this time painting the outer parts of the cat before painting the base. This was a pretty big mistake because I got black over everything I had already painted when I painted the base. I had to go over everything else multiple times to cover up the black.
